“War Games”

Tonight the International Friday Night Foyle’s War Club will be meeting once more to be mesmerised by DCS Foyle, Sergeant Milner and Sam Stewart pitting their wits against the baddies in East Sussex during the 1940s. I am sure it will make gripping viewing.

Minutes from the last Meeting:

Apologies: None (hurrah!)

Attendees: (Virtual): Martha from America, MohairMK, Kitchentease, C. Nelson, Digby D and ayresorchids.  (Actual): Lady Egality (Club Treasurer), The Graf and Lady Liberty (Club Secretary), Lady Sebright , Colonel Pyncheon

Announcements:

1. It has been one of those days where everything has gone off beautifully! 1) The weather is simply fabulous – all sparkling sun, 2) the postman Dave brought the balloons for the party just in time  and 3) the meeting of the International Friday Night Foyle’s War Club will be the icing on the cake!

3. If any Virtual Member would like to introduce a new member to the Club, please remember to emphasise we eat delicious biscuits during meetings. Tonight’s biscuits are to be supplied by the Graf and will be ‘Squashed Flies’ aka Garibaldis.

4. A reminder to all Club Members – virtual and actual: Don’t forget to place a Foyle’s War picture in the room where you are attending the meeting. Our one is of Christopher Foyle (aka Michael Kitchen ) looking delicious in his 3 piece suit.

We shall be watching Episode 3, Series 2: War Games:

October 1940: A young secretary falls to her death out the window of her office. Foyle plays referee to the Home Guard’s war games, but there’s live ammunition and one of the Home guard ends up dead. The local children collecting paper and metal for the war effort prove instrumental in solving the case.

This episode marks the first appearance of the recurring character Hilda Pierce, played by Ellie Haddington (later appearing in the episodes “The French Drop” and “All Clear”) – she then became a lead character in series eight.(Wikipedia)

Yours, greatly looking forward to our Club meeting…
