The Agent

The Agent is my mentor and life’s companion: he is responsible and hardworking. The Agent rescues me from scrapes and loves Manchester United, barbecues and books about the First World War.

The agent and I have 3 chicks, Ma, Mi and Min to whom we are very partial. Being now grown up, they have flown the parental nest. They step out with the Mrs. Chicks Ma, Mi and Min to whom we are also very partial.

Lady Egality Maran :

Lady Egality is my best friend. She is always ready to share with me in life’s joys and pick me up during life’s sorrows. She has excellent computer skills and wears elegant clothes. This year we are planning to write a pantomime together for Christmas called, ‘Death comes to Castle Coop‘.

Brown Owl:

Brown Owl enjoys organising us all – perhaps more than we enjoy being organised. She has heaps of energy and wears sensible shoes. She is a formidable member of the Parish Council. She has called me ‘Gloria’ for so long now, I respond automatically – thereby weaving myself into a rather tangled web. One day Brown Owl is going to lecture me about not having reminded her that my name is actually Liberty and… it will all be my fault.

Colonel Beverly Pyncheon:

Col P. usually wears salmon-pink corduroys in the winter and drives a British-racing-green Jaguar. He grew a sponsored moustache for Movember (which received so many compliments, he decided to keep it) and mans the Village Hall during Elections when it becomes a Polling Station.

Lord and Lady Eftie Nudge

Lord and Lady Eftie Nudge live at Castle Coop Castle. They ride about the village in a dear little Golf Cart but keep a Bentley for everywhere else.

Lady Sebright:

Lady Sebright lives next door to Colonel Pyncheon. She spent years out in China where she and her husband were Missionaries before returning back to the UK and settling with her late husband in Castle Coop. Once she told me that she was going to be a ballet dancer at Covent Garden but then she fell in love and moved overseas.

The Misses Pepperpot mean well… The two sisters live at the Eastern edge of the village. Egalantine is responsible for our piratical dress during Pilates.

Lady Lohmann-Brown

Lady Lohmann-Brown is Castle Coop’s Gardening Guru. When we hold an Open Gardens afternoon to raise funds for the Church, Lady L-B is the only one of us who isn’t thrown into a complete panic. She is fantastic at flower arranging Everything she does, she does beautifully.
